Nominations open for faculty award for ‘Research Excellence’
The Campbell University Faculty Development Committing is now accepting nominations for the D. P. Russ, Jr. and Walter S. Jones, Sr. Alumni Award for Research Excellence.
Nominations are open to all full-time faculty members at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Any faculty member may nominate any other full-time faculty member, whether that person resides in one’s own department or another. Nominations are confidential.
Nominations should be submitted to the Faculty Research Committee via this link. The letter of nomination (not to exceed three pages) should highlight recent accomplishments and innovations, record of outstanding scholarly achievement and the impact of the nominee’s research.
- Each letter should include the nominee’s name, rank, department/academic unit, and years at Campbell.
- Include how you know the candidate, for how long, and in what capacity.
- Highlight major accomplishments, publications, or activities that commend this individual. Please contextualize those accomplishments and the impact to the discipline to help provide perspective to those outside the field.
- Emphasize how scholarly activity completed while at Campbell has contributed to the University and the field of research.
Nomination submissions close on Feb. 15.
Nominees will then be asked by the committee to submit the following:
- Biography (200 words or less)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Statement of Research Excellence (maximum of three pages)
Recipients receive a commemorative trophy and a $500 prize. They are also featured in Accolades, an annual publication highlighting the scholarly achievements of University faculty.
