Professor’s design projects chosen for two international exhibits

Design projects created by Dejan Mraović, assistant professor of graphic design for the College of Arts & Sciences, were recently chosen for two international art exhibits in Turkey and Colombia.

A pacifist poster titled “No War” was shown at MiniWorks, an international art exhibition organized by the Balıkesir University in Balıkesir, Turkey. The exhibit was held May 21-June 6 and featured 387 artists from 27 countries around the world.

The previous December, a logotype created by Mraović was chosen for the Intercontinental Biennial’s international shows in Bogota, Colombia. The shows, which ran Dec. 8-17, 2023 at the National Museum of Colombia and the Egar Negret Museum (both in Bogota) featured just 625 designers out of the 17,125 who submitted entries to the international jury. Featured designers represented 78 countries across the world.

“It was enormous prestige to represent the U.S., North Carolina and Campbell University in Bogota,” said Mraović. “The Intercontinental Biennial is an organization that promotes art, design and performance industry. It crosses continents with the best artworks and visual expressions of artists from all over the world.”

Mraović’s entry was created for a client in Siofok, Hungary, and was included in the Logo Design category.
