Over 100 Campbell alumni came together for a night of connection and networking at Camels in the City held June 5 across six cities from North Carolina to Virginia and Texas.

Held annually by the Campbell University Alumni Association, Camels in the City provides the opportunity for alumni to build connections with others within their local and regional networks. This year’s cities included four locations in North Carolina: Charlotte, Fuquay-Varina, Raleigh and Winston-Salem as well as  Richmond, Va. and Austin, Texas. It marked the first year that Fuquay-Varina joined the lineup of cities, providing the opportunity for alumni to engage with each other in one of the closest neighboring communities to Buies Creek.

Charlotte’s event was hosted by Richard Carden (’18), Regional Engagement Committee Chair and Alumni Board member. “

“It was a great time connecting with our Charlotte-area Campbell alumni at Camels in the City,” said Carden. “It was an evening filled with laughs, great conversations, and alumni meeting new friends.”

Carden continued, “Camels in the City has become one of my favorite Campbell traditions. It feels like a homecoming in our hometown! I look forward to connecting with the Charlotte Camels at our next alumni event.”

Winston-Salem area alumni gathered at Orange Owned business, Radar Brewing Company and were welcomed by owners Aaron Wall (’98) and Eric Peck.

Camels in the City is especially meaningful for young alumni who may be navigating new jobs and cities. Events like this provide a built-in network and a reminder that no matter where life takes you, there’s always a member of your Campbell family nearby.
