Why did you choose Campbell Law? I initially chose Campbell for its generosity through scholarship support. What I’ve since discovered is how deeply aligned Campbell’s values are with my own. The school’s steadfastness in preparing me for a legal career and its persistence in teaching me to defend my beliefs with both strategy and conviction have shaped me in ways I could not have anticipated.
What has been your favorite experience so far at Campbell? Truthfully, my favorite part of Campbell has been the relationships I’ve built with the faculty and staff. They’ve made me feel connected to the school and supported me throughout my time here.
Journey to Campbell Law: I decided to go to law school during my sophomore year of college, after speaking with several attorneys and law students and realizing how versatile a law degree can be. The fact that it opens doors to so many different paths really appealed to me, and since I’ve always loved reading and writing, it felt like the right fit. After graduating from UNC, I went straight into law school.
How you spent your 1L summer: I worked as a Summer Associate at Womble Bond Dickinson in their Winston-Salem office.
Campbell Law involvement: I serve as Co-Symposium Editor for the Campbell Law Review and am also involved in the Christian Legal Society and the Business Law Association. In addition, I help lead the Red Letter Bible Study.
What does your life look like outside of law school? I love cooking, playing pickleball, spending time outdoors and running. Right now, I’m training for the Boston Marathon this spring — which just so happens to fall right around Spring exam season, so it’ll be a busy time!
Advice for students and prospective students reading this: While I do believe hard work is essential, my law school motto has been: “You cannot outwork God’s favor on your life.” I truly believe that every bit of my success in law school has come from the Lord’s favor and His blessings on my life. And I would encourage all of my peers to press into that!
