Why did you choose Campbell Law?

I chose Campbell because there’s no better place to learn law than right in the heart of Downtown Raleigh! Furthermore, the attorneys I worked for prior to law school couldn’t recommend it enough. They were all rockstar litigators and I wanted to follow in their footsteps.

What has been your favorite experience so far at Campbell?

Definitely making Christmas ornaments during a Women in Law meeting. We got to decorate an ornament with all of the different class textbooks, and it was the cutest thing!

What was your journey to law school like?

I always loved math and science, but the law also intrigued me as well. For most of my childhood, I believed the two were at odds with one another so I stayed on the STEM course. However, while earning my bachelor’s in chemistry at NCSU, I quickly realized that I did not want to be stuck in a stuffy lab all day. I spoke with one of my professors about possible options for me and she recommended being a patent attorney. I fell in love! Being able to be in a world with both law and science in my life was a dream! I took a gap year to work at a local firm, just to confirm I liked the legal profession, and I fell in love even more. With the attorneys’ help and foresight I eventually applied and got accepted into Campbell.

How did you spend your 1L summer?

This summer I was an extern with Campbell’s own Title IX coordinator. My main work focused on researching the new NCAA v. House Settlement.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

I’m president of the Intellectual Property Legal Society and a member of Women in Law.

What does your life look like outside of law school? What do you do for fun?

Outside of law school I like to box and play my trombone. I also have an adorable doggie named Cleo, who’s the light of my life!

Do you have any advice for students or prospective students?

Make friends! Studying law is hard enough; having a friend to laugh and cry about contracts with makes it so much easier!
