Campbell names next alumni president and board members

BUIES CREEK – Morgan Timiney (’15 & ’20) has been named president of the Campbell University Alumni Association Board of Directors, with Richard Carden (’18) serving as vice president and Christie Stafford (’06 & ’22) as secretary. In addition, six alumni have joined the board.

“I am so excited to be taking over as president of the Alumni Association,” said Timiney, who has served as vice president for the past two years and has been a member of the board since 2021. “Since my first experience, Campbell has felt like home. I can’t wait to work with the board to find ways to strengthen the University, connect with alumni across the world, and give back to a place that has given me so much. Be on the lookout for new and exciting ways to get involved as we revamp how the Alumni Board serves the University and you. Go Camels!”

Morgan Timiney holding his son.Timiney is a two-time graduate of Campbell University, earning degrees in kinesiology and mechanical engineering. He currently works as a CTL/SSL Chassis Engineer at Caterpillar, Inc. A former track and field and cross country student athlete at Campbell, Timiney was a three-time All-Big South performer in cross country and claimed conference titles in the 800 meters and 1,500 meters in 2015.

A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., Timiney succeeds outgoing president Rebecca Brock (’97 & ’01) who will remain a member of the alumni board.

Carden, a Trust and Wealth Management graduate from the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, is currently serving his second three-year term on the board. He first joined in January 2022 and began his second term in 2025. Carden was named vice president beginning in January 2026 and will serve in the role for two years before transitioning to president in January 2028. He currently works as a Wealth Advisor with Vanguard and is based in Charlotte, N.C.

Stafford is also a two-time Campbell graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies and a Master of Arts in Faith and Leadership Formation. She previously served on the board until rotating off in 2024, as required by board bylaws. Following a one-year break, Stafford was invited to rejoin the board and begin her term as secretary in January 2026. She currently works as a Senior Admissions Counselor in the Campbell admissions office.

Stafford takes over as secretary for outgoing board member Angela Rogers, who previously served in the role for 11 years.
