Orange Owned: Morgan & Perry Law

David Morgan (’16 Law) and Nolan Perry (’13, ’16 Law) are on a mission to provide holistic legal services to the Fuquay-Varina community through their firm, Morgan & Perry Law, P.L.L.C. “Our firm tagline is ‘Community based. Client focused,’” Perry said. “We want to provide quality legal services to help our clients achieve their goals as well as serve our community. Our firm handles real estate, business and estate planning matters. These practice areas allow us to help our clients achieve their dreams; whether that be purchasing a new home for their family, start their dream business or protecting their assets for future generations.”

The two opened their law firm just two years after graduating from Campbell Law, a goal they had throughout their time in school. “Assistant Dean Zeke Bridges has been a phenomenal mentor. During law school, I took Dean Bridges’ “Start Your Own Law Firm” course. Knowing this was a serious career path for me, I took the class to heart and learned as much as I could to prepare me,” Perry said. “I met another great mentor during an alumni panel at Campbell Law. Allison Carr is an attorney in Clinton who also handles real estate matters. Like me, Allison saw the appeal of opening a practice in a small town right out of law school. She serves as a great example of how to be a professional and servant leader in the community.”

Perry and Morgan have learned legal procedure and passed the Bar Exam, but they have also learned how to accept help and advice from others in a similar situation. “The path to success is not a paved road. Everyday, there are new and unanticipated adventures for us. What I have learned is that you cannot do it alone. There are so many mentors, particularly among Campbell alumni, that are eager to help. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel when someone else has survived a similar challenge,” Perry said.

Now as graduates and owners of their own firm, Perry and Morgan recognize the benefits of their Campbell education. My classes at Campbell gave me the foundation I needed to be a competent business owner, attorney and community leader,” Perry said. “Campbell showed me that faith can, and should, be applied in everything you do. It showed me that service to others is essential to becoming a leader. It also showed me that success can only be achieved through hard work.”

The next step for Perry and Morgan is to join Orange Owned, Campbell’s newest alumni business owner recognition program. “Campbell’s values shaped me to become an ‘Orange Owned’ business owner,” Perry said. “From its first days as Buies Creek Academy, Campbell faculty and students have exemplified hard work for the community. From building the original school house in 1887 to serving North Carolina’s rural communities today, students are exposed to the virtues that make them incredible alumni.”

Registering as an Orange Owned business benefits both Morgan & Perry Law and their clients, as it allows them to represent the University and its mission statement through their participation. “Being able to identify as an Orange Owned business allows more people to seek us out. The Orange Owned sticker lets people know that we are attorneys equipped with Campbell’s notorious competency and values. Supporting the university has always been important to our firm,” Perry said. “We are proud to be recognized as Orange Owned and we are excited for the opportunity to better serve the Campbell community.”
