Campbell students celebrate Thank A Giver Day
On Nov. 6, during the month of Thanksgiving, Campbell students gathered in the Academic Circle to write thank you notes to donors in honor of our annual Thank a Giver Day (TAG Day).
Leading up to TAG Day, more than 400 “tags” were placed around campus — on buildings, campus landmarks, classrooms, residence halls, athletic facilities and more — to serve as a visual reminder that donor generosity has helped make Campbell what we know and love.
In a span of two hours, approximately 800 students wrote thank you notes on TAG Day, thanking donors for scholarships, athletics, buildings and more.
“The outpouring of gratitude from our students, faculty, and staff to Campbell alumni and friends who make special things happen for this university is inspiring,” said Britt Davis, vice president for advancement. “TAG Day has become an annual tradition in Buies Creek where our entire campus community take a few moments to express our appreciation to the individuals and organizations that truly make so many things possible for us. Numerous campus facilities, students scholarships, and other things would not be possible or attainable without the generous hearts of these friends to Campbell.”
In addition to written notes, TAG Day allowed students to share their appreciation to donors through social media. Students were encouraged to take a picture of a tagged item of personal significance and post it on social media with a note of thanks. Donors could follow the #CampbellTAGDay hashtag to see students’ creative ways of giving thanks.
