What made you choose Campbell?
“I decided to come to Campbell for the opportunities. It was so easy to get involved and participate as a pharmacy advocate, be a leader at the school and national level, and gain experience working right alongside faculty members.”
Davies also took advantage of her time here to research and present posters at national meetings, an experience she says was extremely valuable when transitioning to the field.
How did you decide to study pharmacy and clinical research?
“I graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Exercise Biology. Not knowing what direction I wanted to take with pharmacy, I did a 5-year program receiving my MSCR and PharmD. This assured me I wanted a career in academia that encompassed research.”
How has having a dual degree impacted your professional life?
“As a junior faculty, research and scholarship is a portion of my job responsibilities, the dual degree program has allowed me to complete research projects, and precept students at ease. I also was able to establish a clinical research elective at my college.”
What advice do you have for students pursuing a career in pharmacy?
“Get involved and explore all options that clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, industry, etc. has to offer.”
