Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard is sending two teams of Campbell Law student advocates to compete at the regional National Trial  Competition (NTC) on Feb. 6-9 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Both teams are coached by Maria Hawkins, a 2012 Campbell Law graduate and associate attorney at Miller Law Group. Second-year students Daniel Nelson, Macy Stutts and Matthew Hobbs form one team, while third-year students Jake Terrell, Michaela Weber and Alexis Massengill form the other.

The National Trial Competition was established in 1975 to encourage and strengthen students’ advocacy skills through quality competition and valuable interaction with members of the bench and bar.  The program is co-sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) and is designed to expose law students to the nature of trial practice and to serve as a supplement to their education.
