Campbell experiences made possible by you | Matthew Downing

When generous alumni and friends give to Campbell University, the impact of their gifts extends beyond Buies Creek, and beyond students’ time on campus. Donor support makes Campbell students’ experiences possible through scholarships and financial aid, campus resources, technology, facilities and much more. While at Campbell, students use those experiences to develop skills and earn a degree that allows them to graduate and serve the world through their careers.

Matthew Downing (’21) already understands the impact his Campbell experience will have on his future. As a sports management major with marketing and business administration minors, Downing has packed his time at Campbell with sports marketing-related coursework, internships, and an on-campus job with Campbell Athletics. “My favorite part of my Campbell experience is being part of the game day staff for Athletics,” Downing says.

These experiences in and out of the classroom are preparing Downing for his dream career with the U.S. Soccer Federation.

But without scholarships, Downing’s Campbell experience would have looked a lot different. “The impact of receiving scholarships on my Campbell experience was huge,” Downing, says. “Because of the scholarships I received, I am able to attend Campbell for free. The scholarships have provided me the chance to gain an amazing education and at the same given me the ability to participate in once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”

You, our Campbell donors, make these once-in-a-lifetime experiences possible.
