Campbell Law School advocates competed in the Hofstra National Medical-Legal Trial Competition, hosted by the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell on Oct. 6 through Oct. 8, 2023.

The team was comprised of second- and third-year students. Susannah Horton, Will Sparks, Samantha Border, Jason White and Tim Neverov proudly represented Campbell Law School well. The team was coached by Campbell Law alumna Casey Peaden ’17.

The Hofstra National Medical-Legal Trial Competition is the only trial competition in the country in which a medical school and a law school collaborate to simulate real-life expert testimony by doctors.

The participating law schools competed in three preliminary rounds of a mock civil trial involving dueling medical experts. Each law school was assigned a fourth-year student from the Zucker School of Medicine to serve as an expert witness.

Additionally, each team has access to leading industry consultants from DOAR, a litigation-strategy and expert-witness consulting firm, for support with trial graphics and presentation.
