Why did you choose Campbell Law?

When I toured Campbell, it felt like home! I saw students working together and having fun even while working through difficult material. The culture of Campbell is truly unbeatable.

What has been your favorite experience so far at Campbell?

I have been a tour guide for the school each semester and it has been incredibly rewarding. I love helping people through the challenging time of trying to pick a law school and showing them our amazing campus. The connections sometimes last even after the tour with many individuals attending Campbell and others just reaching out for support in general.

What was your journey to law school like?

I earned an associate degree in Paralegal Studies many years ago and learned after years of working as a paralegal that I wanted to do more. I wanted to be the one in the courtroom really making a difference so I went back to college and took the LSAT. I was working full-time, married and I had a precious baby. It was difficult to manage it all but great practice for law school.

How did you spend your 1L summer?

I worked at Strive Law Firm with alumna Carly Spencer ’20 during my 1L summer. I assisted with mostly family law and domestic violence cases. We also started a podcast called Gavel Gab! We chat with guests about entrepreneurship, relationships and law.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

I am one of the Peer Mentor Program Directors, helping our new 1Ls navigate their first year. I’m also a Student Bar Association (SBA) Representative and I’m involved as a member of the Women In Law student organization. I’m also serving as a tour guide again this year for Admissions.

What does your life look like outside of law school? What do you do for fun?

I enjoy spending time with my 4-year-old daughter above all else and going on dates with my husband. I also enjoy a good book and time to paint.

Do you have any advice for students or prospective students?

You can do this! Trust your gut and pursue your dreams. When you get to law school, start making your class outlines early and stick to it. Take advantage of school resources like the Campbell Peer Mentor Program and meet with your student mentors regularly.
