Taryn Wilkins ‘25 received the 2025 North Carolina Bar Pro Bono Award for Campbell Law School on Oct. 31, 2025.

Wilkins was recognized at the North Carolina State Bar Headquarters in downtown Raleigh during the official meeting of the State Bar Council. The North Carolina State Bar selects one student from each law school in the state to receive its Annual Student Pro Bono Service Award, which recognizes a graduating student for their exemplary pro bono work.

“I’m honored to be one of six students to receive the Student Pro Bono Service Award from the North Carolina State Bar,” Wilkins said. “I decided to become a lawyer to increase access to justice for all people. Some of the most meaningful moments of law school came through pro bono work — learning from dedicated advocates and communities who show how the law is a powerful tool to create a more just and compassionate world. I’m deeply grateful to the mentors, classmates and organizations who made this work possible and continue to inspire me as I start my career.”

Assistant Dean of Students, Pro Bono and Belonging Regina Chavis ’20 added, “Please join me in congratulating Taryn for her outstanding commitment to service and to the ideals of our profession.”

Wilkins, who is originally from Harrisonburg, Virginia, served as Executive Director of the Campbell Law Pro Bono Council 2024-25. She also earned the Class of 2025’s Pro Bono Publico Award, which is presented to the individual whose demonstrated commitment to pro bono activities exemplifies the aspirations of the law school and the best intentions of the legal profession.
