Sharpe is currently interning with the North Carolina Department of Justice Special Litigation Section.
According to her bio, Sharpe is a believer in the power of government and public service. While earning a political science degree from Meredith College in Raleigh, Sharpe spent time working at nonprofits, a law firm and at the North Carolina General Assembly as an intern. Following graduation, she returned as a Legislative Assistant to the General Assembly, where she grew her interest in the law and nurtured her passion for public service.
In her free time, Sharpe enjoys reading, spending time in nature and catching up on the latest k-dramas, her bio continues.
The NCBA scholarship supports law students who are gaining experience through unpaid internships in North Carolina. Eligible applicants must be working without compensation (including class credit) at a government law department (city, county, state or federal) or a non-profit organization within North Carolina, the NCBA website states.
As a condition of acceptance, recipients will submit a blog post about their internship experience, which may be published on the North Carolina Bar Association Bar Blog website, subject to approval. Be on the lookout for those this fall, the website adds.
Other scholarship recipients include law students from Elon University, the University of North Carolina, North Carolina Central University, the University of South Carolina and Regent University.
