Doctor of Pharmacy student David Guerrero is passionate about community service
Incoming Doctor of Pharmacy student: David Guerrero
Undergraduate Experience: BS Biomedical Sciences, Interamerican University of Puerto Rico
“I chose Campbell University because of the school’s commitment to provide students with the necessary tools for success, both in and out of the classroom.”
What do you bring to the Campbell classroom?
I graduated with honors from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. I am passionate about community service and helping others. I was able to manifest this passion through my church and the community, and was even involved in leadership roles like being president of my youth group and assisting the finance ministry.
I also spent time volunteering with a humanitarian aid organization. We reconstructed roofs that were blown away by Hurricane Maria, and I also coordinated activities that helped manage the physical and emotional health of locals after the hurricane.
I hope to bring a sense of professionalism and leadership to the classroom. I believe I can be a link to various cultures.
Why did you choose Campbell University and/or what are you most excited about?
I chose Campbell University because of the school’s commitment to provide students with the necessary tools for success, both in and out of the classroom. The new curriculum ensures student success by engaging students in a practice environment starting the first year. Integrated classes and exams that emulate the NAPLEX exam are also of huge benefit to students. These trainings, combined with a staff that genuinely wants students to succeed, creates an environment for students to become the best professional that he/she can be.
What are your career goals and/or what legacy do you hope to leave?
I hope to impact others in as many ways as I can, and I know that Campbell will play a large role in that process.
