Joshua’s story
I enjoyed my time at Campbell and am proud to have been a part of the Christian Studies community. I came in as a transfer student in my second year and wasn’t sure how I would fit in, but within no time I felt like I was one of the guys and made fast friends.
I loved how diverse my classmates were; we came from different backgrounds, but we were unified in the body of Christ. It helped me to listen, learn, and grow as a student and as a believer. My favorite part of the program was the rich conversations of faith and life that would break out during class. I’m glad my professors believed in the voice of the student and allowed us to share our life experiences and faith journeys.
My time at Campbell empowered me for what I do today and equipped me for the calling that God placed on my life. I am currently the Next Gen Pastor at Generations Church in Tallahassee, FL. I manage about 50 middle and high school students on a weekly basis and am the department head of the student ministry. I oversee all events, trips, conferences, fine arts programs, small group teams, youth ministry budget, student leadership teams, outreach programs, and assist local schools with SYATP and FCA.
Our church is situated in the middle of the poorest zip code in Florida (32304), so our vision is to love God and love our neighbor. We hope to win this community for Christ and to help the teenagers of Tallahassee find their passion, chase their dreams, and to grow into fully committed disciples of Christ.
Even during the pandemic, we’ve seen God mend family dysfunction, heal broken hearts, restore failed dreams, and transform young lives.
