Good Works: Gaskins Gibson Capital

Campbell University takes immense pride in its alumni and their entrepreneurial endeavors. The “Good Works” story series spotlights Orange Owned businesses that go beyond traditional success to positively impact their communities. These businesses, founded and led by Campbell alumni, are creating meaningful change by giving back, implementing sustainable practices, and supporting vital causes.

One such business is Gaskins Gibson Capital, a Raleigh-based wealth management firm led by Steve Gaskins (’92) and Knox Gibson (’17). The firm provides personalized financial strategies to individuals, families, and businesses, helping them achieve their financial goals. Beyond financial planning, Gaskins Gibson Capital is committed to giving back and has formed a partnership with the nonprofit paws4people, which trains and provides assistance dogs to veterans, children, and adults with disabilities.

Gaskins Gibson Capital became involved with paws4people after meeting its founder and being drawn to their mission of helping veterans with PTSD, which has since expanded to people with varying needs. This connection deepened when Gaskins Gibson Capital became the presenting sponsor of paws4people’s annual Derby4Dogs event, their showcase fundraiser.

“Derby4Dogs is paws4people’s showcase event for the year, and we wanted to help expose more people to their mission,” Gaskins said.

For Gaskins and his team, the partnership has been rewarding, both personally and professionally. Meeting individuals who have benefited from paws4people has been particularly impactful.

“It’s inspiring to see their drive for what they do and their professionalism,” Gaskins said.

At Gaskins Gibson Capital, giving back is integral to their company culture.

“We believe that as we have been blessed, we should try to bless others,” Gaskins said.

His commitment to corporate social responsibility stems from his upbringing, where he learned the importance of helping those in need.

The partnership reflects Gaskins Gibson Capital’s broader values of supporting the well-being of others while helping their clients achieve financial security.
