Graphic design student’s work chosen for international publication

Campbell University graphic design sophomore Tori-LaVonna Hall was selected for the 78th issue of Creative Quarterly, an internationally recognized graphic design and illustration magazine based out of Brooklyn, New York.
Hall’s digital illustration, “Dancing Queen,” was inspired by the hit ABBA song of the same name. The project was an assignment for her freshman ART 101 class in the spring under Assistant Professor of Graphic Design Dejan Mraovic. In her project, Hall was asked to visually represent the sound of everyday objects.
“I chose to depict the noise heels make when they strike the dance floor,” she said. “I believe the stark contrast between the cool blue and the warm peach hues, along with the halftones bordering the legs help to give the piece the perfect 70’s disco aesthetic.”
Hall’s work was included with student artists from universities all over the world.
