The Hispanic Law Student Association (HLSA) is hosting its annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, 2022. Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to honor the culture, experiences and impact of the Hispanic community.
Over the next four weeks, the Campbell Law community will participate in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. On Sept. 15, HLSA hosted its inaugural Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-off event. With food from Mexico and music from the Caribbean, the event highlighted several Hispanic cultures. The food, music, dancing and games all mixed into one fiesta that was a blending of cultures. Thanks to all who showed up and showed out! HLSA looks forward to hosting an annual “fiesta” to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Dean J. Rich Leonard said it was one of the best events he has ever attended on campus.
HLSA is hosting both social and professional events throughout Hispanic Heritage Month. Events are open to all. Following is a list of events to get involved:
- Sept. 21: Hispanic Lawyers in the Profession with Raquel Fernandez Goforth
- Sept. 29: Gozadera – Salsa Workshop
- Oct. 4: Latinx and LGBTQIA+: Exploring Intersectionality
- Oct. 13: Whine & Design
