King Law welcomes five Campbell Law students as 2025 summer clerks
King Law has welcomed its most geographically diverse class of Summer Law Clerks, who includes Campbell Law School students Natalie Carter ‘27, Jordyn Clark ‘28, Anna Mueller ‘27, Chloe Proffitt ‘27 and Courtney Rea ‘28, the firm has announced.
Representing 13 law schools from across the country, this year’s group will be working in King Law offices located throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and — for the first time — Tennessee. The program offers hands-on legal experience, courtroom observation and direct mentorship from practicing attorneys.
Both located in the Forest City office, Carter is working on North Carolina Civil Litigation and Clark is working on North Carolina Family Law.
“My internship has shown me how meaningful family law is,” Clark said. “Helping families through important moments with care and compassion is so rewarding.”
Mueller is working on Estate Planning and Administration in Cornelius, while Proffitt is working on Civil Litigation in Hendersonville. Rea is working on North Carolina Family and Civil Litigation in Raleigh.
“You’re treated like an associate from Day 1,” Mueller said
While smaller in number, the 2025 class extends farther in distance than ever before, with students joining from as far as Oregon, Mississippi and Vermont. The Summer Law Clerk Program continues to serve as a dynamic launching pad for aspiring attorneys and future firm leaders, according to a press release sent out by the firm. Many past clerks have returned to King Law to grow their careers, with several advancing to associate, partner and even ownership roles.
The program was first established in the early 2000s, with now-firm owner John Crotts serving as the inaugural intern. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of the firm’s commitment to professional development, legal mentorship and investing in the future of the legal field.
This immersive, hands-on experience provides law students with valuable exposure to the real-world practice of law, including:
- Hands-on client interaction;
- Courtroom observation;
- Work in family law, civil litigation, estate planning, and criminal defense;
- One-on-one mentorship from experienced attorneys across multiple states.
King Law continues to build a legacy of developing future leaders. The application for the 2026 Summer Law Clerk Program is now open. Interested students can learn more and apply at this link.
