Online Patent Law Certificate Profile: Dana Vouglitois of Boca Raton, Florida

Dana Vouglitois, a resident of Boca Raton, Florida, recently earned her online Patent Law Certificate from Campbell University’s School of Law. A graduate of the University of Miami, Vouglitois is the associate director in the Office of Technology at Florida Atlantic University.

Q: What did you hope to gain from Campbell Law’s Online Patent Law Certificate Program?

A: I hoped to gain a more in-depth understanding of patent law that would reinforce concepts I was previously familiar with and introduce new concepts that would enhance my overall knowledge in this practice area. 

Q: Do you feel the program met your expectations?

A: The program achieved my expectations by providing a balance of foundational knowledge of intellectual property law, detailed analysis of patent law and practical application of patent preparation and prosecution. 

Q: How has your knowledge of Intellectual Property law increased?

A: My knowledge of intellectual property law has increased through a deeper level of appreciation for and mastery of the subject matter. I feel more confident using the knowledge and skills I gained in this program to advise others on this area of law. 

Q: How will it help you in your career?

A: It will enable me to provide a higher level of service and make more informed decisions in my career. 

Q: What are your thoughts on the courses?

A: The courses covered every aspect of patent law that are likely to impact a variety of career paths. I appreciated the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of students. 

Q: What are your thoughts on the professors?

A: Professor Osborn was an engaging lecturer with an incredible level of expertise in patent law. Professor Haas was great at educating students on how patent law works in real-world practice. 

Q: Please share a fun fact about yourself.

A: In my career I am always learning something new. I work with scientists, engineers, doctors and many other kinds of researchers. I try to become a “mini-expert” in each area!
