PGA Alumni Share their Real World Experiences

5 Campbell PGA Golf Management alumni participated in a virtual event sharing their career journeys with current students, prospective students, and faculty members.

Jorge Parada, Chandler Withington, Monica Thiem, Seth Thompson, and George Rauh served as the alumni panelists for the event.

“It was great to see this event come to fruition. We wanted a way to collaboratively bring alumni, current students, and prospect students together to share different career paths in the golf industry and diversify the voices in the room,” shared PGM Director Gabriella Story.

“I thought it was great to hear from some of our alumni and to learn their paths to where they are today. All are successful in their respective fields, and to gain that type of insight into different areas of the business is very valuable,” commented Tyler Fisel, a sophomore PGM student from Wisconsin.

Prospective students, who are going through the decision-making process about which PGA Golf Management program to attend, were able to ask alumni why they chose Campbell University.

The overwhelming response, from all five panelists, was the strength of the program, the tournament series, and the family-like atmosphere shared among the students in the program.

“It was very cool to hear from our alumni, on their adventures in the business, in a very relaxing way,” said John Soltys, a sophomore PGA Golf Management major from Massachusetts.

“It’s important for our students to know the depth of the industry and how deep our alumni roots reach. We have so many alumni willing to give back to our program; We hope to have more iterations of this event each semester,” shared Gabriella Story.
