Pharmacy faculty uses internal research grant to further support students

Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Muzyk and his team for their publication in the April issue of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (https://www.ajpe.org/content/84/4/7415). Their paper is titled “A Pilot Interprofessional Course on Substance Use Disorders to Improve Students’ Empathy and Counseling Skills.” This is the third publication from their research project exploring the development of an interprofessional substance use disorder course and its impact on health professions students’ knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and patient outcomes.

Their other two publications were in Academic Medicine and Academic Psychiatry. Their project included fourth-year student pharmacists from CPHS and received funding through the CPHS Internal Research Grant program. Their research has been recognized with educational research awards from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and American College of Psychiatrists.
