Dear Campbell Alumni Family,

This has been an eventful week for our Campbell community as I know it has been for you and your families.

The Alumni Engagement team takes pride in the opportunity we have to keep you connected with your alma mater. During this time of uncertainty, we appreciate your priorities of taking care of yourselves, your families, and your communities. As our staff figures out our “new normal” for engaging with you, please know we are committed to serving the alumni body of more than 51,000 graduates and supporting our current students as they become our newest alumni.

President Creed announced Thursday that all classes for the remainder of the semester will be exclusively online and all students are being asked to leave campus. While decisions like these are not made lightly and are for the well-being of our campus community, we share in the sadness many of our students are experiencing.

Campbell’s motto is “Ad Astra per Aspera” – To the stars through difficulties.  When asked how you would describe Campbell, many of you use the word “family.” Our students are part of our Campbell family and need your encouragement during this difficult time. We’re asking you to help us rally around our students and soon-to-be our newest alumni as they navigate this time of extraordinary change.

Share your words of encouragement or stories from your own time at Campbell when you persevered through a challenging experience. We’ll share these with our student body over the coming weeks.

As Campbell alumni, making a difference in the lives of others is part of your DNA. We know you are finding unique ways to lift up your community during this difficult time and we look forward to sharing your words as we seek to comfort and encourage our students.  Thank you for your continued support of Campbell and our commitment to education.

With Campbell Pride,
Sarah Q. Swain, ’05
Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement
