Will Rural America Receive Attention from Three New Mega-Conversion Foundations?

Allen Smart wrote an article for Inside Philanthropy on how health conversion foundations have emerged as key players in rural philanthropy. Three mega-conversion foundations have developed within a year and half of each other. Smart raised several questions regarding the level of engagement that these foundations will have in rural communities. These conversion foundations are in a unique position where a choice between urban or rural funding is unnecessary. There are many committed conversions serving rural areas and would be perfect avenues of support and collaboration if the three mega-conversions would seek it.
