How do you spend your free time?

I love to hang out with my fiancé, family and friends. We just got a new puppy in January so I have been hanging out with her a lot and taking her to the park and I love it. I also love to find new TV shows to binge watch.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you personally?

Women’s History Month is a time to recognize and appreciate the resilience and achievements of women who have paved the way for us while facing barriers within society. It also serves as a reminder of the women who were lawyers, advocates and judges who have fearlessly fought to have a place in our profession. Because of their courage and determination, we have the chance to follow in their footsteps and continue to open doors for other women.

Name a woman who inspires you and why?

Many women I know come to mind when I think about who inspires me, but if I had to pick, I would have to say both my mom and grandma. My mom has always been a big inspiration to me since I was a little girl. She is dedicated to her career as a nurse and has always continued to work hard and help others. She continuously supports me and pushes me towards my goals and dreams. My grandma has also always been a woman I have looked up to throughout my life. Despite only finishing middle school, she worked hard to provide for her family and work various jobs. She has taught me valuable life lessons, to never give up and to enjoy life. Together, they both have shaped the woman I am today.

How do you plan to make history?

I hope to pave the way for other women who want to join the legal profession in the future and I hope to become an inspiration for little girls who want to grow up one day to become lawyers.

Best advice for a 1L?

Law school, especially 1L year, is a marathon not a sprint. Don’t burn yourself out early on. Take time for yourself while maintaining your readings and outlines. Attend the scholar sessions, take the practice exams, but also take time for yourself and continue doing things you love!!! Law school flies by in a blink of an eye!
